A Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker, Barbara Lewis explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often referring to the urban landscape of Chicago. Working as a curator, docent and running her own studio and deeply inspired by Fernand Leger, Barbara enjoyed experimenting with new techniques and materials- often finding my joy in the process then the end result. Fearless in combining mediums and always embracing the accidental in her works and despite the burden of Parkinson’s Disease, Barbara continued creating art until her death in November 2008.
