Description
The Oiva Teapot is made of white stoneware and features the white-on-white Unikko pattern. It includes a ceramic strainer, a wooden handle, and a lid peg crafted from certified rubber wood. Because of the wooden details, the teapot is recommended for hand-washing. The product comes packaged in a Marimekko logo-patterned box.
Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to capture the true essence of flowers in print, which is why floral motifs were originally excluded from the collections. In response, Isola designed Unikko as an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic depiction. Today, Unikko stands as a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko’s design identity. Designed in Finland.
