Description

The Oiva Teapot is made of white stoneware and features the subtle white-on-white Unikko pattern. It includes a ceramic strainer along with a wooden handle and lid peg crafted from certified rubber wood. Because of the natural wooden details, the teapot is recommended for hand-washing. It comes packaged in a Marimekko logo-patterned box.

Unikko, designed by Maija Isola in 1964, has become an international icon of print design. Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, believed that the true essence of flowers could not be authentically captured in print, which is why floral patterns were originally excluded from the collections. In response, Maija Isola created Unikko as an abstract interpretation of a flower rather than a realistic depiction. Today, Unikko remains a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly woven into Marimekko’s design identity. Designed in Finland.
