Description
The Unikko Round Birch Tray is made of laminated birch plywood and features the white-on-white Unikko pattern. We recommend wiping the tray clean with a damp cloth or washing it by hand. Do not soak. The tray is also compatible with the Marimekko oak tray stand.
Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral motifs were originally excluded from the collections. In response, Isola designed Unikko as an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic depiction. Today, Unikko stands as a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko’s design identity. Designed in Finland.
